Why Thailand, and why now
When we launched PLB three years ago, the pitch was simple: bold, flavour-forward snacks that don't exist on the Indian shelf. Cured pork bites when everyone else was selling flour and oil. Pork crackle when everyone else was selling potato chips. We built the pork snack category in India because nobody else was going to.
Thailand is the next chapter of the same book. Not because these flavours are already familiar in India — they aren't. But because they're built for palates that already know bold, umami, sweet-sour and hot. New words, familiar comfort. If you love masala, you'll love mala. If you love tamarind chutney, you'll love tamarind candy. If you love a proper pickle, you'll love salted egg.
Walk into a supermarket in Bengaluru or Mumbai looking for the actual Thai snacks — the crispy chicken skin, the salmon skin chips, the tamarind candy — and you find nothing. The category doesn't exist. Same story as pork three years ago.

Cured duck-egg yolks turned into a golden, buttery, faintly sweet coating — savoury the way a hollandaise is savoury, but crunchier. Bangkok food halls dedicate entire counters to it. It's not on Amazon India. It's not in Godrej Nature's Basket. Now it's on ours, for the first time.
